Path of the Tiepido
It runs through the territory of the province of Modena for about 30 kilometers before flowing into the Panaro river. Once, its waters fed the Roman baths of Torre Maina, and when they continued downhill, they were far from cold. We are speaking of the Tiepido torrent, one of the waterways that skims the surrounding areas of Maranello.
For the past few years, the area that skirts around the torrent has become a nature path. Near Maranello, the relevant area extends over eight kilometers: an ecological corridor where you can dive into nature, on foot or by bike, thanks to a joint environmental recovery project.
The points of access are Rio Podo, Gorzano, and Pozza. The path is equipped with parking areas, rest areas with tables and barbecues, and play areas for children, while around you can admire orchids, white willows, poplars, and wild cherry trees. The most attentive observers may come across squirrels and hedgehogs, foxes, and badgers, but also colorful birds that populate the river environment: robins, red breasts, and kingfishers.
A green lung, a peaceful and silent place where you can regenerate your body and relax your mind, with an ideal path for outings and educational and nature-related activities.
